חגי ומועדי ישראל

Holidays and Holy Days

The Jewish calendar is a masterpiece of memory, celebration, and commemoration. The rhythm of the year, with its holidays, holy day, fasts and feasts, takes us from joy to sorrow, as we remember, contemplate, and experience anew events that took place at the dawn of our nation’s history or only a few decades ago. Always dynamic, always making room for Jewish history as it unfolds, our calendar is the stage on which every Jew plays out his people’s, and his or her own, past, present, and future.

In this section we will be looking at the various Jewish holidays, exploring both their ancient truths as well as the messages they have for us in a rapidly changing world.
